KOTA KINABALU CITY TOUR/ MARI MARI CULTURAL VILLAGE
In the morning, pick up from your hotel to visit the famed landmarks and attractions of Kota Kinabalu City, the capital of Sabah. See the panoramic view of the city from Signal Hill’s Observatory. Learn the historical significance of the Atkinson Clock Tower. Marvel at the unique 30-storey high circular Sabah Foundation Building. Pass by the beautiful Blue City Mosque, built after the immaculate Nabawi Mosque in Medina. You will also see the famous Buddhist Puh Toh Tze temple with its traditional Chinese roofing and structure and huge reclining Buddha. Visit the Sabah State Museum to gain insight of the rich history, culture and heritage of the people of Sabah. Pass by the Sabah State Mosque, a masterpiece of architecture with its dove-grey walls and glittering majestic domes with gold inlay, a clever and unique combination of Islamic architecture and contemporary design. After lunch, visit the tribal houses of Mari Mari Cultural Village and learn about the rich cultures of Sabah. Be prepared to teleport back to the times of ancient Borneo through the display of unique ingenious architecture, simulated lives and ritualistic ceremonies. You will be taken to five show houses representing the five largest ethnic groups in Sabah. Watch the demonstration of different activities such as blowpipe making, starting a fire the traditional way and tattoo-making. You may be invited to join some of the activities. Watch a traditional cultural dance performance and enjoy a scrumptious meal before returning to your hotel. (Lunch/Dinner included)
