LOK KAWI WILDLIFE PARK/MONSOPIAD CULTURAL VILLAGE
In the morning, pick up from your hotel and drive to Lok Kawi Wildlife Park. This park is sprawled over 280 acres of land. You will have the chance to get close to some of the Borneo endemic species here. There are over 88 animals in the park including the endangered orang- utans, sun bears, Borneo Pygmy elephants, proboscis monkeys, tigers, mouse deer, barking deer, otters and various species of birds. After lunch, Take a remarkable journey into the past when head-hunters roam the land of Borneo. Monsopiad Cultural Village was built on the very land where Monsopiad, the famous Kadazan warrior lived some 300 years ago. Run by his direct descendants, this rustic village is dedicated to conserving the heritage and culture of the biggest ethnic tribe in Sabah - the Kadazans. Gain insight into the way of life of this beautiful tribe through stories, dances and artefact displays. The highlight of this tour is the visit the House of Skull, where 42 skulls hang as proof of Monsopiad's greatness as a warrior in defending his village.
