LABUK BAY PROBOSCIS MONKEY SANCTUARY
Pick up from your hotel in Sandakan or from Sandakan Airport and proceed overland to Labuk Bay Proboscis Monkey Sanctuary. This privately-owned sanctuary located within an oil palm estate gives you the chance to observe the unique Proboscis Monkey upclose and personal. The remarkable males sport big dangling noses with pot bellies. You will have a chance to observe the Proboscis monkeys both young and adults leaping from tree to tree and eventually coming down to feed on young leaves, plants and rice cakes. After tour, transfer to your hotel in Sandakan or to Sandakan Airport.
** What to bring – Disposable raincoat, cap, sunblock lotion, insect repellent, drinking water. Use good walking shoes.
Comfortable cotton T- shirts with long or short pants recommended.
** Do not wear bright colour clothing such as red or yellow into Labuk Bay Proboscis Monkey Sanctuary.
Keep your belongings safe in your bag and avoid wearing jewellery especially dangling ones.
No food is allowed in the Proboscis Monkey sanctuary.
