2D/1N Gomantong/ Kinabatangan River Cruise
Day 1 Sandakan / Gomantong Caves / Kinabatangan River Cruise
Morning, pick up from Sandakan Airport or your hotel in Sandakan and drive to Gomantong Caves. Explore the biggest bird’s nest caves in Sabah. Continue the journey to Sukau by the Kinabatangan River. Check in Bukit Melapi Lodge. Boat trip to watch the curious proboscis monkeys gather by the river bank. A good chance to see numerous species of birds and other wildlife until nightfall. After dinner, retire for the night (Lunch/Dinner included).
Day 2 Ox-bow Lake / Sandakan
Morning, take another boat trip to the ox-bow lakes. Birds abound in all shapes and forms. The lakes are the abode of freshwater fish, otters and sometime - wild elephants may be sighted. Trek in the riverine rainforest and return to the Lodge. After lunch, return to Sandakan. Drop of at your hotel in Sandakan or at Sandakan Airport (Breakfast/Lunch included)
** What to bring – Disposable raincoat, cap, sunblock lotion, insect repellent, drinking water, flashlight, leech socks, personal toiletries & items of personal use. Use good walking shoes and bring a pair of flat walking sandal. Comfortable cotton T-shirts with long or short pants recommended.
