3D/2N Turtle Island/Kinabatangan River Cruise/Sepilok Orang Utan Centre
Day 1 Sandakan / Selingan Turtle Island
Morning, pick up from Sandakan Airport or your hotel in Sandakan and transfer to the jetty for boat to Selingan Turtle Island. Check into your accommodation. Afternoon free at leisure. You may swim, snorkel or just relax by the beach. In the evening, learn about the turtle conservation through a slide presentation. Wait for your turn to watch turtle laying eggs on the beach, the transfer of the eggs to the hatchery and the release of hatchlings to the sea. (Lunch/Dinner included).
Day 2 Selingan Turtle Island / Kinabatangan River Cruise
After breakfast, return to mainland and proceed by land to Gomantong Caves. Explore the biggest bird’s nest caves in Sabah where the bizarre edible bird's nest is harvested as they have been for hundreds of years. The caves are also home to more than a million bats. The birdlife around the cave is particularly rich, with crested serpent eagles, kingfishers, Asian fairy bluebirds and leaf birds often sighted. Continue the journey to Sukau by the Kinabatangan River. Check in to Bukit Melapi Lodge. Boat trip to watch the curious proboscis monkeys gather by the river bank. A good chance to see numerous species of birds and other wildlife until nightfall. Dinner and overnight. (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner included)
Day 3 Sepilok Orang Utan Centre / Sandakan
After breakfast, return to mainland and proceed to Sepilok Orang Utan Centre. Witness the feeding of orphaned orang utans. Walk along a jungle trail and observe the tropical lowland rainforest. Transfer to your hotel in Sandakan or to the airport. (Breakfast included)
** What to bring – Disposable raincoat, cap, sunblock lotion, insect repellent, drinking water, flashlight, leech socks, swim wear, bath towel, personal toiletries & items of personal use. Use good walking shoes and bring a pair of flat walking sandal. Comfortable cotton T-shirts with long or short pants recommended.
** Do not wear bright colour clothing such as red or yellow. Keep your belongings safe in your bag and avoid wearing jewellery especially dangling ones. No food is allowed in the orang utan reserve
